Prediction Contest

Frequent Habs EOTP contributor Stephan Cooper came up with a pretty good idea on Friday, to throw out some predictions for fun. Everyone who comments on hockey blogs and message boards has to think they know something about hockey, or maybe they came in to learn, same goes for us who write. I thought I’d take Stephan’s idea and run with it a little bit.

Here’s the deal, make some predictions, points based only, on how the players who will be Canadiens or Bulldogs this upcoming year will fair. Include the number of games you think that player will play. If the player comes within 5 points (either above or below) your prediction, we’ll say you got it right. You can also predict where you think the Habs will place next year (number of points, league, conference and division placings).

You can make as many or as few predictions as you want, and here’s where it gets interesting; the person who gets the most predictions correct by the end of the regular season will win a copy of The Game by Ken Dryden. If you have that book already I can figure out another prize and we’ll work it out. I haven’t spoken with other EOTP contributors, so they’re free to increase the stakes if they wish with their own prizes. Looking forward to your predictions. I’ll post mine after the cut, but mine are only to get the conversation going, I can’t win (not that I would, I’m terrible at predictions, but that’s half the fun!).

-Quick note, games played is only for context, if you get the games played wrong and the points right, you’re still right.
