The third episode of the podcast features Scott Matla and Patrik Bexell discussing Phillip Danault’s and Joel Armia’s new contracts, and what they could mean for Max Pacioretty’s future. We take a look at the pros and cons of who should be playing as the third person on the line with Danault and Pacioretty (should be still be around when the season begins).

What will happen with Jesperi Kotkaniemi come autumn, and will his development lead to games in the NHL, AHL, or Liiga?

One person who has confirmed that he will stay in North America even if he does not take a spot on the Canadiens roster is Lukas Vejdemo. This creates a bit of an issue with quite a few different centres on the Laval Rocket; a pleasant problem for the organization compared to last year.

This leads to the question of Michael McCarron’s status, and what will happen to him as he is a restricted free agent. Will he need to change his game, or role, to get a better development curve?
