Just minutes into Saturday’s pre-season game versus the Toronto Maple Leafs, Patrik Laine was injured after carrying the puck into the offensive zone on the Habs’ first power play. He immediately dropped to the ice clutching his knee, and needed significant help to get off the ice.

With no penalty call on the knee from Cédric Paré, Arber Xhekaj meted out the discipline on his next shift on an unwilling opponent, and received a game misconduct for doing so.

We await an update on how serious the injury is for Laine.
