PANINI AMERICA CONTINUES SUCCESSFUL NEWSPAPER PROMOTION CAMPAIGN WITH MONTREAL GAZETTE NHL STICKER INSERTIONS

Offers exclusive stickers of Edmonton Oilers Taylor Hall and Boston Bruins Tyler Seguin only available in The Montreal Gazette

Arlington, TX (November 24, 2010) – On the heels of a successful inaugural newspaper promotion with The Boston Globe, Panini America (www.paniniamerica.net), the leading global publisher of sports and entertainment collectibles and an NHL licensee, has begun an NHL sticker promotion with the Montreal Gazette.

137,000 official Panini NHL sticker albums and a sticker sheet were inserted into last Saturday’s Montreal Gazette, and for the next two weeks, 137,000 free Panini sticker sheets will be inserted into the Saturday paper. Two limited edition stickers, printed exclusively for the Montreal Gazette promotion, will appear during select weeks. The stickers, which are not available at retail outlets, will showcase top rookie draft picks, and former Canadian National Juniors players, Taylor Hall of the Edmonton Oilers and Tyler Seguin of the Boston Bruins.

In conjunction with the limited edition sticker promotion, the Montreal Gazette is hosting a trivia contest for collectors via their website. Fifty winners will receive a complete Panini NHL sticker album, featuring players from all thirty NHL teams, in time for the holidays.

The Montreal Gazette sticker promotion will include:

137,000 official Panini NHL sticker albums

– 411,000 officially licensed Panini NHL sticker sheets

– 2,466,000 total stickers will be distributed throughout the promotion

– Stickers featuring NHL stars and rookies, including Taylor Hall, Carey Price, Alex Ovechkin and Ryan Miller

– 50 completed Panini NHL sticker albums to the online trivia contest winners

“After the success of our campaign to introduce the first officially licensed NFL sticker collection with The Boston Globe, we saw an opportunity to expand our efforts to the NHL,” said Panini America CEO Mark Warsop. The Montreal Gazette has proved to be another important media outlet to deliver our sticker albums in to the hands of Canadian collectors, and we are excited to partner with the Gazette on what we hope will be a successful promotion for both the newspaper and the sticker collection.”
