Noah Juulsen out six weeks with broken foot

Montreal Canadiens defenceman Noah Juulsen will be out six weeks with a broken foot suffered in the team’s first pre-season game in Quebec City.

Juulsen had been getting set for his first professional season and that will have to wait a little longer. Juulsen will likely report to the Laval Rocket once he recovers.

He was a long-shot to make the Habs roster out of training camp, but he was in the right defence conversation alongside Brett Lernout once Jordie Benn started practicing on the left side.

The team has also been playing Brandon Davidson on the right side of the defence as well.

The Canadiens also sent every player still at camp on a tryout to the Laval Rocket camp which will open next week. They also sent Maxime Fortier back to his Junior team, the Halifax Mooseheads, where he was then named captain.

The team should expect to make further cuts as we get closer to the Rocket’s first pre-season game on September 30.
