Reports say that the Montreal Canadiens are possibly one of the teams Shane Doan would waive his no-move clause for, though they wouldn’t be number one.
Can confirm the Canadiens are 1 of the teams Doan would consider waiving NMC for, but they're not atop his list. Does MTL step up?— David Pagnotta (@TheFourthPeriod) March 1, 2017
The Canadiens are loaded in depth positions right now, but appear willing to acquire experienced physical players with secondary scoring skills, and Doan fits that bill.
Doan had spoken out about the team trading Martin Hanzal this weekend.
Doan, of course could have been drafted by Montreal, but was taken one pick before the Habs drafted. They instead took Terry Ryan.
