The Montreal Canadiens have a lot of fourth line depth and Devante Smith-Pelly is one of the players who could find himself a new home today before the 3 p.m. Trade Deadline, according to Bob McKenzie.
McKenzie: "I think Devante Smith Pelly is a name that could move today."

Let's face it. The things that got Marc Bergevin to trade for Smith-Pelly (his toughness, grit and playoff performance) are exactly the same types of things that playoff-bound teams will be looking for as well.
McKenzie doesn't just throw names out there, so when he mentions something there's a pretty good indication of the direction that the Canadiens and Bergevin are looking at today.
Phillip Danault, Jacob de la Rose and Michael McCarron are bottom six players that have been added by the Canadiens and if you can get something for Smith-Pelly then you do it, and he's exactly the kind of player GMs love on Trade Deadline day, seeing as he's still young enough for teams to possibly hope for some development.
