Report: NHL to review Andrew Shaw’s hit vs Capitals
The Canadiens forward faces a possible suspension
The morning after Andrew Shaw hit Washington Capitals defenceman Connor Hobbs, La Presse is reporting that the NHL department of player safety will be reviewing the hit.

If you missed it, Shaw felt he was slew footed and then slashed a passing Capital before hitting Hobbs from behind.
Shaw said after the game that it wasn’t his intention to hurt Hobbs but he was just trying to finish his check. After the hit, he got into a fight where he tried to pump up the crowd in the middle.
If Shaw is suspended, it will likely be delayed until the regular season and I would expect a short suspension if he is even suspended. Shaw received a game misconduct for the hit in Tuesday’s game.
Shaw has been suspended before, but it was for using a homophobic slur and not for any physical on-ice incident.
The Canadiens open the season October 13 against Buffalo.
