With round five under way, the Montreal Canadiens made their first pick of the round at 135th overall. They opted to use it on Jakub Dobes a goalie, from the Omaha Lancers of the USHL.

In 21 starts for the Lancers last year Dobes posted a 9-6-3 record with a 3.09 goals-against and .891 save percentage. While his a commit to Ohio State in the NCAA, the big Czech is expected to return to Omaha for another season according to HockeyProspect.com
