We already knew the NHL Draft Lottery would be held on Saturday, and now we have more details.

The Draft Lottery will start at 7:30 p.m. Eastern time on CBC, Sportsnet and streamed online on Sportsnet Now in Canada. The Lottery will be on NBC in the United States.

Picks 15-4 will be unveiled before the Vegas Golden Knights-San Jose Sharks game that begins at 8:00 p.m.

The three teams that make it through that will have to wait until the second intermission to know where they will select as that is when the results will be unveiled for the top three selections, according to a Sportsnet press release.

This is perhaps an attempt to draw out the drama of one of the exciting events on the NHL’s calendar.

The Montreal Canadiens have the fourth-best chance of drafting in the top three after their tough season. One combination for the Canadiens to win the lottery is outcome #16 which would have balls 1, 2, 4 and 9 picked.

Of course, 1, 2, 4, 9, and 16 are all iconic numbers in Canadiens history.
