The Montreal Canadiens managed to score one goal before the final minutes of the third period, and that proved to be too much of a hill to climb for the NHL’s worst offensive team. The shutout further cemented the Buffalo Sabres into the top lottery spot.
The Vancouver Canucks had moved to 29th with a win on Thursday night, pipping the Arizona Coyotes in the regulation and overtime wins (ROW) column. After their loss last night, the Canucks have played more games to reach their 61 points, so they move back to the second-best odds on points percentage.
The Dallas Stars needed to hang on for 11 seconds to get to overtime and claim a critical point. However...
