The Montreal Canadiens didn’t have to wait long to get back on the stage after their first pick of the second round. The 58th pick came from the Washington Captials in the Lars Eller trade last June.
This time the Habs picked Joni Ikonen to add to their prospect pool.

We discussed Ikonen’s first-round talent earlier this week, and by all intents and purposes he’s a very smart pick, especially in the later part of the second round.
