EA Sports released their list of the top-10 defensemen in the 2017 iteration of their NHL video game, and Shea Weber of the Montreal Canadiens is at the top of their list with a 94 overall rating. A certain former Canadiens player also made the list, although not quite as high as Weber.

10 – Dustin Byfuglien, 91 overall
9 – P.K. Subban, 91 overall
8 – Marc-Edouard Vlasic, 91 overall
7 – Victor Hedman, 92 overall
6 – Brent Burns, 92 overall
5 – Erik Karlsson, 92 overall
4 – Ryan Suter, 93 overall
3 – Duncan Keith, 93 overall
2 – Shea Weber, 94 overall
1 – Drew Doughty, 94 overall
Technically they gave the number one spot to Doughty, but since he and Weber are tied with that 94 overall rating, it’s a stone’s throw. Of course, this is just a video game, so you can’t put too much stock into it, but EA sports at least believes that Shea Weber is one of the very best defenders in the game today.
