Saturday Habs Headlines: Carey Price officially named starter for Team Canada

  • Team Canada head coach Mike Babcock revealed on Friday that Carey Price will indeed be his starting goaltender in today’s World Cup of Hockey opener against the Czech Republic. [Eye on Hockey]
  • In an interview with RDS, GM Marc Bergevin explained that he is listening to calls from teams around the league on the availability of Nathan Beaulieu. Bob McKenzie gave his take on that news on TSN 690, stating he wouldn’t be entirely surprised if Beaulieu is moved. [RDS | TSN 690]
  • Commenting again on the trade of P.K. Subban for Shea Weber, Price stated that the entire club believes Subban’s play was too unpredictable for the team’s structure. Alexei Emelin added that the move would be “best for the team.” [La Presse]
