Introducing A Hockey City, the comic strip

New, comments

Sometimes when I get bored, I like to draw. When there's no hockey on, I get bored. Here's the result of a major amount of boredom: A Hockey City.

It's been 90 days since the Canadiens last played a hockey game; 54 days since the Chicago Blackhawks hoisted the Stanley Cup. As the game-thread writer here, I end up watching a lot of hockey. When the season ended, I tried to fill the hockey void with trivial things like beautiful summer weather, bar patios and drinking beer, and spending time with my family. None of it could fill the void of the off-season.

In my heart-wrenched condition, I imagined a place that would best represent my true feelings for the game, and the team I love. A special place, where hockey is prime and as important to the city than the city itself: A Hockey City...

These guys gotta stay in shape somehow, but not everyone has the same approach...

It's part of the job, and sometimes it works...

A great player can make any coach look good...

To be continued...
