While watching the video following P.K. Subban around, I realized how little I have seen or known about P.K. the man.
You know all about the hockey player. You know all about the personality that is on display on camera. But this was a unique, albeit brief, look at what drives the Canadiens defenceman.
P.K. gets it.
He knows what it takes to have the spotlight on him, he knows what is expected of him and how to deal with it. He also has a great support system as his family is an important piece of his life. Seeing him before the announcement, and the nerves on someone we aren't accustomed to seeing nervous just makes me like Subban even more.
It really puts an emphasis on the fact that there are some great people on this Canadiens team and how lucky we are to have Subban along with Carey Price and Max Pacioretty representing the team.
People say that athletes shouldn't be role models. Subban puts that notion to rest very quickly.
If you haven't seen the video already, take a look and get a little more insight into Subban's life off the ice.
