Morning links: Any Habs fans with nails left still?

Well the Montreal Canadiens have a few days to figure out what to do next, as they prepare for Saturday’s meeting with the New Jersey Devils.

Mike Boone has his Quick Hits on last night’s mess.

“Trailing 4-2 midway through the third period, Martin shortened his bench to three lines: Plekanec centring Andrei Kostitsyn and Mike Cammalleri, Scott Gomez and Brian Gionta with latest LW Benoit Pouliot and – wait for this one, in a two-goal game – Halpern, Mathieu Darche and Travis Moen.

“This sums up the Canadiens’ no-show: EVERY SKATER, except Jeff Halpern, was a minus on the night.”

Eric Engels feels the Habs need to do some soul searching.

The Habs, and their fans, may get some comfort in seeing that a Western Conference power, in the Detroit Red Wings took a 10-3 beating at the hands of the St. Louis Blues. But then, what if I told you that Matt D`Agostini has 20 goals on the season?

On the topic of 20-goal seasons, Sergei Kostitsyn is one shy of that, heading into the Nashville Predators meeting with the Colorado Avalanche.

Sid on the return: Some good news that Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby has been cleared to practice with the team. Bad news for their opponents, but the NHL needs it’s stars.

The AHL announced it’s All-Rookie Team for 2010-11. Sorry, no Hamilton Bulldogs.

Habs prospects advance: Louis Leblanc, Phillipe Lefebvre and their Montreal Juniors squad advanced in the QMJHL playoffs. Leblanc had two goals, and Lefebvre added another in Game Four of their series against the Halifax Mooseheads.

Mark Recchi would prefer to retire a Stanley Cup champion. So I guess he’ll be back next season then, eh?
