Despite another first-round exit, the Montreal Victoire were big winners at the 2025 PWHL Awards on Wednesday in Ottawa after leading the league in the regular season standings. The team took home five individual awards.
Marie-Philip Poulin won the Billie Jean King Most Valuable Player award and Forward of the Year, Kori Cheverie won Coach of the Year, and Ann-Renée Desbiens won Goaltender of the Year.
Laura Stacey also took home the Hockey for All award for her community involvement. She has independently raised over $100,000 through her ‘Sticks In For Charity’ Road Hockey Tournament. She has intentionally directed support to under-resourced communities in both Toronto and Montréal, equipping schools with physical activity programs, providing access to sport for girls aged 12–17, and funding creative arts and sports-based learning programs for over 100 children in the 2025–26 school year. Montreal won the award last year, when Maureen Murphy took it home for her volunteer work in the community.
There were other Victoire players honoured throughout the Awards. Poulin and Desbiens were named to the first All-Star team, and three rookies (Jenn Gardiner, Cayla Barnes, and Anna Wilgren) were named to the All-Rookie team. Amanda Boulier was named the team’s Intact Impact winner. Each PWHL team recognized one player for their leadership, integrity, and commitment to their teammates, who voted on their team’s award.
Poulin was the easy choice for Most Valuable Player. She led the league in goals and game-winning goals, and her two-way impact on the Victoire was undeniable. She finished fourth in league scoring, behind Sarah Fillier and Hilary Knight. She also won forward of the year, ahead of those two players. It is her fourth professional MVP award, joining her three won in the CWHL.
Desbiens was also the easy choice for Goaltender of the Year. She had a 15-2-2 record in the regular season with a 1.86 goals against average and .932 save percentage, leading the league in all three categories.
