The Montreal Victoire continue to replenish their depth, signing American national team forward Hayley Scamurra to a two-year contract on Tuesday, the team announced.

Scamurra, 30, spent last season between the Ottawa Charge and Toronto Sceptres. She had one goal and two assists in 25 games last season. She also won a gold medal with the United States at the 2025 IIHF World Championship.

She brings a wealth of experience to the team and her two-way play will fit right in with the rest of the team and fellow new signing Shiann Darkangelo.

“Hayley is a power forward who works hard in all three zones. She’s proven herself not only in our league, but also on the international stage. Her compete level and ability to impact the game with her physicality and sound play on both sides of the puck make her a valuable addition to our group,” said Victoire General Manager Danièle Sauvageau.

The Buffalo, New York native had five goals and five assists in 24 games in the league’s inaugural season. She has represented Team USA at six World Championships and the 2022 Olympics.

”I’m so excited to be joining the Victoire! They have a talented group of players and seasoned coaching staff that I’m eager to learn from. I’m excited to feel the passionate energy of the Victoire fans cheering for me and our team this season,” she said.

Scamurra will be the first player to play for all three original Canadian teams and played for Montreal head coach Kori Cheverie in the PWHPA with Team Harvey’s, a team that also included Marie-Philip Poulin and Ann-Renée Desbiens.
