The Professional Women’s Hockey League announced players released from their respective camps on Tuesday, and subject to the waiver process.
Montreal has cut forward Sarah Bujold, and goaltenders Marlène Boissonnault and Tricia Deguire , leaving 28 players in camp. Pending injuries and any potential waiver pickups, this could mean the other players will stay in the organization.
Bujold played 21 games with Montreal last season, scoring two goals and adding one assist. She scored the first Montreal goal in the game at the Bell Centre.

Unfortunately that was the last game she would play due to an injury that kept her out the rest of the season and all of the playoffs. Boissonnault was Montreal’s third goaltender all of last season, but never played a game. Deguire played at McGill University and with the Montreal Force of the PHF.
Other notable cuts include former Montreal draft pick Maude Poulin-Labelle, who was lost on waivers last year, and Madison Bizal, who played 21 games for the team last season.
Players on waivers are eligible to negotiate with the remaining five teams and get a contract. Players who were drafted in 2024 are considered restricted free agents, which means that the team that drafted them can match any offer they receive, but the team would need to make a spot for them they previously preferred someone else for.
