Canadiens vs. Sabres second period thread
It's scoreless heading into the second period.
Habs and Sabres games involve a lot of skating back and forth with very little action. By the midway point of the first period, shots were only five to three for the Sabres, even though both teams had combined for 15 shot attempts.
The Sabres are after their eleventh game in a row on the road with at least a point (7-0-3). They started the game the more aggressive of the two teams, leading in possession and shots on net for most of the period.
The Habs had a powerplay late in the first that couldn't get anything going, then another after Evander Kane got an unsportsmanlike penalty in an altercation after the whistle involving Mike Brown. As a result, the Habs will have 1:15 of powerplay time to play with to start the second period.
