After spending a day getting back to the basic element of shooting pucks, the Canadiens will put that work into action in the second and final game of the season series with the Vegas Golden Knights.
Difficulty scoring prevented the Canadiens from earning both points when the teams first met in Las Vegas. Despite 39 shots on target, Montreal only scored two times on the way to shootout loss, bailing out a poor effort from their opponent. Three goals is the aim for every NHL team when it enters a contest hoping for the win, something the Habs haven’t managed in either of their previous two games.
Rafaël Harvey-Pinard won’t be one of the players helping them offensively as hes been sidelined with an injury. That does mean we’ll see both Michael Pezzetta and Jesse Ylönen in the lineup for a rare time this season on the fourth line, two players who have held their own in their part-time roles. In net, Martin St-Louis has made the decision to start Cayden Primeau, staying very unpredictable in who he gives the call to man the crease. We will find out over the course of 60 minutes, or more, whether that decision pans out in the coach’s favour.
