Montreal Canadiens sign Arsen Khisamutdinov to entry-level contract

The Montreal Canadiens have signed prospect Arsen Khisamutdinov to an entry-level contract.

Khisamutdinov signed a two-year contract as he is 22 years old. He split the last season between the two levels of the Russian domestic league. He played 31 games in the KHL with Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk scoring a goal and two assists. In the VHL with CSK VVS Samara he had nine goals and four assists in 14 games.

He will be a candidate to start next season with the Laval Rocket, who are continuing to add young Canadiens prospects to the fold. Khisamutdinov will join Jesse Ylönen making their North American debuts next season. It is likely that they will be joined by other CHL prospects who will need to be signed this summer.

Khisamutdinov is 6’3”, 203 lbs and is an intriguing prospect and obviously is willing to try and make the jump to the game in North America.
