Montreal Canadiens set a club record with 30 shots in a period

After being utterly embarrassed in the first period, and trailing 3-0, the Montreal Canadiens came out like a house of fire in the second period.

At one point in the period held a 15-0 shot advantage over the Ducks, and have looked like an entirely new team after a bad opening period. With two goals in the second period, and momentum on their side Montreal is very much still in this game.

There have been a lot of really good teams in Canadiens history and for this one, in this circumstance, to set the record it is a pretty remarkable achievement.

The previous record was 27 shots-on-goal, although the several power plays the Canadiens had definitely helped them gain some offensive pressure.
