The Montreal Canadiens have recalled forward Rafaël Harvey-Pinard from the Laval Rocket ahead of Saturday’s game against the New Jersey Devils.

Harvey-Pinard has yet to play an NHL game this season. He cleared waivers after his conditioning stint from a broken leg suffered during the off-season. He has four goals and seven assists in 24 games with the Rocket this season.

Last year he had two goals and eight assists in 45 NHL games. He has played 83 career NHL games.

Harvey-Pinard becomes the latest attempt to find a compatible player for the team’s fourth line as they try to replace Emil Heineman. Michael Pezzetta has not taken regular shifts on the line, and Owen Beck had two games to try and claim his spot. The team also announced that Josh Anderson and Brendan Gallagher are game-time decisions for Saturday’s game.

Harvey-Pinard can stay with the NHL team for a maximum of 30 days or play in 10 games before requiring waivers to return to the American Hockey League. Heineman has been out around 10 days and was expected to miss three to four weeks.
