Ahead of the final game of the regular season, the Montreal Canadiens have recalled forward Lucas Condotta from the Laval Rocket as an emergency recall.

Condotta will replace Mike Hoffman who will miss Thursday’s game.

The 25-year-old Georgetown, Ontario native was signed by the Canadiens as a college free agent from UMass-Lowell last season and is in his first full season with the Rocket.

He has 16 goals and 14 assists in 71 AHL games this season. He had one assist in seven regular season games last season and was a contributor in the post-season with two goals and two assists in 10 playoff games.

This is Condotta’s first NHL recall and he will make his NHL debut one day after Joël Teasdale made his debut in New York. Both players will be in the lineup on Thursday for their first games at the Bell Centre alongside Frederic Allard.

Condotta is a restricted free agent at the end of the season.
