The Montreal Canadiens have recalled Joshua Roy from the Laval Rocket, the team announced on Monday morning.
Roy has been in the American Hockey League all season, and leads the Rocket with eight goals and eight assists in 17 games. There doesn’t need to be a corresponding roster move as the Canadiens only had 22 players on the active roster, however, Rafaël Harvey-Pinard’s conditioning stint is now at its maximum, which means another move could come before their next game. The team requested an extension with the league. Harvey-Pinard is still on the road with the Rocket, which is a maximum of two additional games.
En complément au rappel de Joshua Roy, Canadien confirme avoir demandé une prolongation (probablement de deux matchs) de la période de « conditionnement » de Rafaël Harvey-Pinard avec le Rocket de Laval.

According to rule 13.9 of the CBA, a player on a conditioning lean like Rafael Harvey-Pinard can be sent down for 6 days and 3 games, and the club can then file a written request to the league to extend the loan by an additional two more games. RHP is on the road with the Rocket today.

In 23 career NHL games, Roy has four goals and five assists, all coming last season.
The Rocket, for their part, recalled Jakov Novak from the ECHL’s Trois-Rivières Lions. Mike Matheson will not practice on Monday, as he is taking a therapy day. Patrik Laine was back in a regular jersey at practice as well, which means he is progressing nicely and could be back shortly as well.
Later in the day, the Canadiens also sent Lucas Condotta to the Laval Rocket.
The Canadiens host Utah at the Bell Centre on Tuesday night as they look to rebound from a disappointing performance against the Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday.
