Montreal Canadiens recall Charlie Lindgren, Carey Price out with flu

The Montreal Canadiens have recalled Charlie Lindgren from the Laval Rocket and announced that Carey Price is out with the flu.

Price missed yesterday with what the team called a therapy day, in hopes that he would be ready to go tonight. Obviously that is not the case as Lindgren will partner with Antti Niemi for tonight’s game against the Pittsburgh Penguins at the Bell Centre.

Price started the first three games of the season, going 1-1-1 with a 2.32 goals against average and .909 save percentage. Lindgren is 2-1-0 with a 2.39 goals against average and .875 save percentage in the AHL.

Niemi will likely get the start as Lindgren played last night and made 17/19 saves for the Rocket in their 5-2 win against the Binghamton Devils.

The Rocket are also in action, and you could expect Michael McNiven to get his first start of the season with Etienne Marcoux backing him up in that game at Place Bell.
