Montreal Canadiens reassign Alex Belzile, Ryan Poehling to Laval Rocket
More injury concerns means more bodies may be needed.
The Montreal Canadiens have recalled Alex Belzile and Ryan Poehling to the taxi squad ahead of Saturday’s game against the Ottawa Senators.

The Canadiens have already used emergency recalls for Jake Evans, Cole Caufield, and Michael Frolik which has left them with no additional forwards. With Joel Armia taking a big hit late on Friday, and potentially other players banged up, this allows them some options to swap in fresh legs.
Belzile, 29 years old, has never played an NHL regular season game, but has played in the playoffs. He has dealt with injuries himself this season, and has three goals and eight assists in 14 games this season. He had one assist in six playoff games last season in the Toronto bubble.
Poehling has been one of the best players on a very good Rocket team. He has 11 goals and 14 assists in 28 games and leads the team in scoring.
UPDATE: On Sunday morning, the two playrs were returned to the Rocket.
