With the four-game road trip through the northern teams of the Pacific Division at an end, the Montreal Canadiens have sent Joshua Roy and Marc Del Gaizo back to the AHL.

Roy got into one game, playing 7:58 in the opener in Calgary before he made way for the return of Kirby Dach a night later. Marc Del Gaizo was purely insurance if one of the six defencemen on the roster was unable to play, and didn’t see any action.
The Rocket will be very happy to see Del Gaizo back in the AHL after they had to part with one of the few defencemen they had with injuries to David Reinbacher, William Trudeau, and Josh Jacobs. Laval sits third in the division after finishing first in the league last season, and Del Gaizo will help stabilize things on the back end.
Roy has four points in four games in the AHL including three goals, but hasn’t been able to rediscover the same form he showed in the NHL back in 2023-24 when he had nine points in 23 games. Since we’ve seen stints from Roy and Owen Beck already this season, it might be the turn of a different player the next time the Canadiens need roster reinforcements.
