The Montreal Canadiens have signed forward Sean Farrell and defenceman Marc Del Gaizo to one-year, two-way contracts, the team announced on Wednesday.
Farrell, 23, was the team’s fourth-round pick in 2020 and was qualified as a restricted free agent a few days ago. He had a great second half with the Laval Rocket to get another chance in the organization. He had 20 goals and 24 assists in 67 games and added three games and seven assists in 13 playoff games.
Del Gaizo is 5’11”, 187lbs and was a fourth round pick in 2019 by the Nashville Predators. He is 25 years old and is a left-hand shot. Last season was split between the Predators and Milwaukee Admirals with two goals and seven assists in 46 NHL games and eight goals and four assists in 30 AHL games. He added a goal and four assists in 10 AHL playoff games.
He will likely provide more depth to the Canadiens organization, and both players will likely help the Laval Rocket should they clear waivers.
