The Montreal Canadiens made two roster moves on Thursday that will greatly help the Laval Rocket. Defenders David Reinbacher and William Trudeau, who have been out since training camp, took the next step towards being able to play AHL games.

Both had been on the NHL roster as you cannot send down players who are injured, which means both are likely very close to game action.

Trudeau needs to clear waivers to be assigned to the Rocket for this weekend’s AHL action. Reinbacher was sent down earlier on Thursday morning. Both have been on the ice with the Rocket this week at practice.

This is a good step for the Rocket defence which also re-added Marc Del Gaizo who was returned after being on the road with the Canadiens without any game action.

Joshua Roy was also sent to Laval and the Canadiens have the luxury of not needing to call anyone up unless an injury issue pops up.

The team will hope that Reinbacher will be able to get a full run of games as his development has taken a hit with several injuries over the last three seasons.
