The Montreal Canadiens officially unveil their 2018-19 roster

The Montreal Canadiens have announced the 23 players who will be on the team when the regular season starts on Wednesday night.

The team had a few decisions to make in the final days of training camp. But with several players clearing waivers, the transition to a legal number came fairly smoothly. The most unfortunate bit of news was how the Canadiens got from 24 to 23, as a cardiac issue for Jacob de la Rose rendered him unready to start the season and allowed Andrew Shaw to make the roster after being questionable to begin the season.

The 23 players who will be eligible to play versus the Toronto Maple Leafs tomorrow night are:

Karl Alzner (D)
Joel Armia (F)
Jordie Benn (D)
Paul Byron (F)
Phillip Danault (F)
Max Domi (F)
Jonathan Drouin (F)
Brendan Gallagher (F)
Charles Hudon (F)
Noah Juulsen (D)
Jesperi Kotkaniemi (F)
Artturi Lehkonen (F)
Victor Mete (D)
Antti Niemi (G)
Xavier Ouellet (D)
Matthew Peca (F)
Jeff Petry (D)
Tomas Plekanec (F)
Carey Price (G)
Mikey Reilly (D)
Nikita Scherbak (F)
Andrew Shaw (F)
Tomas Tatar (F)
