Struble, 23, has not played a game since January 10 against the Washington Capitals. He only played 5:09 in that game, and after that David Savard returned to the lineup and the team has stuck with the same six defenders ever since.
The acquisition of Alexandre Carrier has pushed Struble down the lineup, and without Justin Barron, there is nobody rotating in and out of the lineup. He has two goals and three assists in 26 games this season.
The Rocket play in Hartford on Friday before heading to Providence to face the Bruins on Sunday afternoon. Struble can be in the AHL for up to 14 days before requiring waivers or to be recalled.
