Montreal Canadiens lines at practice: October 3
This is likely how the Habs will start the season
The Montreal Canadiens returned to the practice ice this morning, and their lineup is very similar to how they looked against the Ottawa Senators on Saturday.

Torrey Mitchell appears to be the extra forward, meaning that Jacob de la Rose claimed the spot at centre on the fourth line, no doubt helped by his strong performances late in the pre-season.
The other lines appear to be untouched.
On defence, again, not many changes.

Victor Mete – Shea Weber
Karl Alzner – Jeff Petry
Mark Streit – Jordie Benn
Joe Morrow – Brandon Davidson
It appears that Mark Streit will get the first crack at the sixth defenceman spot, with Joe Morrow and Brandon Davidson the extra bodies.
Victor Mete, unsurprisingly, will start the year next to Shea Weber. The only question at this point is whether or not he will get to 10 games or not. Mikhail Sergachev played three games last year before being returned to Junior. He played a fourth game late in the year as an emergency recall.
David Schlemko will start the season on injured reserve, which is not a shock as he has yet to play a game in the pre-season and is still skating on his own.

The Laval Rocket also sent goaltender Michael McNiven to the Brampton Beast of the ECHL as they will start the season with Charlie Lindgren and Zach Fucale.
