Before the Montreal Canadiens’ morning skate began, it was announced that David Schlemko had been recalled after a one-game conditioning stint in Laval. He didn’t make it to practice in time to participate, however.

It was also announced that Tomas Plekanec was suffering from the flu, with his ability to play Saturday’s game against the Toronto Maple Leafs in question.

Fortunately, Alex Galchenyuk, who had missed Friday’s practice with flu-like symptoms, was back on the ice, and it appears his illness will not cause him to miss any game action.

With Plekanec out of the lineup, Jacob de la Rose draws into a centre position, leaving Alex Galchenyuk on the wing of the fourth line with Torrey Mitchell and Ales Hemsky.

The defence pairings remained the same, with Victor Mete and Shea Weber together. It’s possible Schlemko will take Jordie Benn’s spot on the third pairing, but that decision has yet to be made.
