The Montreal Canadiens skated one last time before their season kicks off tomorrow, and there were no changes to the forward lines or defence pairings from yesterday.
#Habs practice lines:
Pacioretty – Drouin – Gallagher
Hudon – Plekanec – Lehkonen
Galchenyuk – Danault – Shaw
Byron – De La Rose – Hemsky— John Lu (@JohnLuTSNMtl) October 4, 2017
The power play also started to take shape, and the units are what we saw in the pre-season with a slight change. On the second unit, Jeff Petry was on one point and Victor Mete and Mark Streit split the other side.
#Habs power play units:
First:
Hemsky
Drouin – Galchenyuk – Pacioretty
WeberSecond:
Shaw/Gallagher – Hudon – Lehkonen
Petry – Mete/Streit— John Lu (@JohnLuTSNMtl) October 4, 2017
It’s also nice to see Artturi Lehkonen and Charles Hudon getting Claude Julien’s trust early in the year on the second unit.
Mete and Petry, if you remember, combined for a pretty powerplay goal in the pre-season.
If Mete gets more time than Streit on the man advantage, his place in the lineup becomes pretty precarious, especially with David Schlemko injured and Brandon Davidson and Joe Morrow behind him as the extra defencemen.
The Habs play the Sabres tomorrow night in Buffalo.
