Roy left Friday’s game against the Utica Comets and then was not in the lineup for Saturday’s rematch. In the meantime, the Montreal Canadiens recalled forward Owen Beck as well.
The 21-year-old has 14 goals and 13 assists in 33 AHL games this season, he also played four NHL games and was held without a point. Roy was named to the AHL All Star Classic, and will now need to be replaced. If the league replaces him from the Laval roster, the top candidates are Alex Barré-Boulet, Beck (who is unlikely if he remains in the NHL) and Jared Davidson.
Laval also announced that defender William Trudeau will be out for one-to-two weeks with a lower-body injury.
