Just ahead of the opening of free agency, the Canadiens have revealed their list of 30 players who will attend the team’s development camp. The camp runs from July 2 to 5 with a couple of public scrimmages on the schedule.
A lot of NHL prospects will not be part of the camp, especially those who are expected to play in Europe this season, choosing not to disrupt their summer training with the trip to North America.
Some familiar names in attendance will be Owen Beck, who is looking to make the NHL roster this season,, Florian Xhekaj, who will be playing centre in the AHL, Filip Eriksson, who made a name for himself in Sweden last year, and Jacob Fowler, a player who seems poised to take the starting goaltending role in the future. Michael Hage, Montreal’s 21st oiverall selection from the 2024 NHL Draft, is also one of the players who will draw a lot of attention this week.
