With all five players Montreal exposed to waivers on Thursday going unclaimed and making their way to Laval, the Canadiens have opted to try the same with another batch of roster cuts. Charlie Lindgren and Charles Hudon have begun that process today.

Hudon gets placed on waivers for the first time in his career. He played the full season in Montreal in his first year of eligibility, but then saw only spot duty in his second a season ago. He looked good in pre-season play on a few different trios, but not enough to elevate himself over other candidates for his position. His limited action in 2018-19 was the result of Marc Bergevin not wanting the take the risk of losing an NHL player to waivers, but the GM had to make that decision this time around.
Lindgren is the final of the three goalies left without a seat in the game of musical chairs. With Cayden Primeau and Michael McNiven already in Laval, there will be a bit of logjam at the position if Lindgren clears, but that is not a guarantee.
