Game 14: Montreal Canadiens vs. Boston Bruins

How to watch

In Canada: CBC, CityTV (English), TVA Sports (French)
In the Bruins region: NESN
Streaming: ESPN+, TSN+, RDS

Up against the greatest team in Western Conference about two weeks ago, the response from the Montreal Canadiens, one of the youngest teams in the NHL, was to put forth what stands as their most complete effort of the 2023-24 season. Tonight, they take on the top team in the east, a Boston Bruins club they’re very familiar with.

Helping the cause will be Rafaël Harvey-Pinard, making his return from injury in Joel Armia’s lineup spot. Martin St-Louis doesn’t want to make many changes from the group that stopped a losing streak on Thursday, so RHP is the only change among the skaters, and Samuel Montembeault takes his turn between the pipes.

Like the Canadiens, the Bruins bring a relatively young defence into this matchup, with the 22-year-old Mason Lohrei on the top pairing with Charlie McAvoy, who has served his four-game suspension for a head hit. The blue-liners have adopted the Bruins’ system perfectly to start the season, and the Canadiens are going to have to work hard to find their opportunities in this game.
