The Canadiens were unlucky to leave Las Vegas with just a single point after their best game of the season, but they at least have a positive result on their record to take as a memento. Confidence among the players has to be sky-high after that performance, and they have arrived in Tempe, Arizona expecting a similar performance.

Once again they catch a club on a third game in four nights, though the more youthful makeup of the rebuilding team in Arizona may help mitigate any issues with fatigue. That said, a relentless attack like what the Habs enjoyed versus the Golden Knights would tire any team regardless of how they were feeling physically beforehand. The Coyotes just don’t serve as the same source of inspiration as a defending champion does, and it’s going to be hard to replicate the level we saw on Monday night.

To help the attack (and the penalty kill), Jesse Ylönen will be back in the lineup for the first time in a couple of games, taking the spot of Michael Pezzetta. Jake Allen gets the start in goal after getting the night off on Monday, and he’s looking for a fourth victory in a row.
