The Montreal Canadiens have traded the 76th overall pick to the Anaheim Ducks for a 2022 third-round pick.

We can assume there was nobody on the board that the Canadiens wanted to select here, so they elected to punt into the next draft, which most consider to be stronger than this year’s crop.
This reads as a good trade, as the Habs will likely have an earlier third-rounder in a stronger draft they’ll also be hosting.
The Habs will next be on the clock for the 87th pick.
