Montreal Canadiens announce full 2019-20 regular season schedule

The Montreal Canadiens will open the 2019-2020 season in Carolina at PNC Arena on the second night of the NHL’s season, October 3.

They will continue their season-opening road trip with another game, travelling to Toronto on October 5 for the first Saturday night game of the season and to Buffalo on October 9. That will be their last game before coming home for their home opener October 10 against the Detroit Red Wings.

The full schedule is available here.

As always, the Canadiens will be going on their annual December road trip. It will last seven games from December 17-31. This year it is combined with the team’s trip to Western Canada before finishing in Tampa Bay, Florida, and Carolina.

Their annual California trip will take place from March 15-21. The team will go to Anaheim, Los Angeles, and San Jose before finishing the road trip in Colorado.

In all, the Canadiens will have 14 sets of back-to-backs this season, including their annual Super Bowl weekend matinees. This year they will host the Florida Panthers and Columbus Blue Jackets on February 1 and 2.  They also have a pair of afternoon games in St. Louis and Minnesota in October.

13 of the 14 back-to-backs involve travel.

The Canadiens do not have any games from January 18-27.
