Montreal Canadiens announce full 2018-19 regular season schedule

The Montreal Canadiens will open the 2018-2019 season in Toronto at Scotiabank Arena on the NHL season’s opening night, October 3.

They will continue their season-opening road trip with another game, travelling to Pittsburgh on October 6. That will be their last game before coming home for their home opener October 11 against the Los Angeles Kings.

As always, the Canadiens will be going on their annual December road trip. It will last five games from December 19-31. Good news for Canadiens fans with time off, as it will include a stop in Vegas on December 22

Their annual California trip, usually a nightmare, will take place from March 5-8, which is later than last year when it was in the opening month of the season. The team will go to Los Angeles, San Jose and Anaheim

In all, the Canadiens will have 14 sets of back-to-backs this season, including their annual Super Bowl weekend matinees. This year they will host the New Jersey Devils and Edmonton Oilers on February 2 and 3.

Nine of the 14 back-to-backs are on the 2019 part of the schedule and 10 involve travel.

The Canadiens do not have any games from January 23-February 2.

The NHL also announced that the Salary Cap for next season will be $79.5 million next year, up from $75 million this season.
