The National Hockey League released its complete 2016-17 regular season schedule today for all 82 teams. The season officially gets underway on October 12.
We already knew that the Montreal Canadiens would open up the season October 13 in Buffalo against the Sabres and at home on the 18th against the defending Stanley Cup champions Pittsburgh Penguins.
The Canadiens once again start on the road due to Disney on Ice which is being held at the Bell Centre from October 12-16. The annual event has been in October for the last few years.
Now, we know the rest of the schedule for the Habs 2016-17 season.
The Canadiens also play in Ottawa before their home opener.
The annual Super Bowl weekend has the Capitals and Oilers visiting the Bell Centre with two afternoon games.
The schedule has 15 back-to-back games, 13 of which have travel between the two games.
