Montreal held one final selection in the 2025 NHL Draft with their assigned seventh-round selection. With that voucher they added Bemidji State University-commit Maxon Vig, a defenceman who came up through the Minnesota high-school system.

Vig played 62 games in the USHL with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, scoring 10 goals and adding 22 assists. He is a big player at 6’2″ and 212 pounds, and set to turn 20 in November.
Barring any trades, that will conclude the Canadiens’ work in the 2025 draft, with nine selected prospects and Noah Dobson added to the organization over the two-day event. The Canadiens hold nine selections for the 2026 NHL Draft.
