Max Pacioretty returns to Montreal with a lower-body injury, will not play today

The captain joins Victor Mete on the sidelines ahead a date with the Boston Bruins.

After leaving the game early last night, Max Pacioretty has returned to Montreal to get medical attention for a lower-body injury.

Pacioretty was in distress after an awkward fall in the second period, and missed the remainder of the frame. He tried to play a shift in the third, but was clearly struggling to skate, and left for the dressing room with several minutes to go.

The Habs will also be without Victor Mete, who left with a hand injury. Both will be evaluated by team physicians in Montreal today, and will therefore miss the game versus the Boston Bruins this afternoon.
