Matt Taormina and Chris Terry named 2018 AHL All-Stars

Laval Rocket defenceman Matt Taormina and forward Chris Terry were selected as participants for the 2018 edition of the AHL All-Star Classic in Utica which will be held on January 28-29.

Terry was named an All-Star for the third time in his American Hockey League career. He will make a second straight appearance as a member of the Canadiens’ minor league affiliate (he was an All-Star as a member of the St. John’s IceCaps last season). The forward is second in the American Hockey League in both goals (18) and points (38) in 33 games played.

Taormina was named to his fourth All-Star Classic and his first as a member of the Laval Rocket. The defenseman is the Rocket’s second-leading scorer with two goals and 28 points in 36 games this season.

The All-Stars will participate in the Skills Competition on Jan. 28 alongside fellow Eastern Conference All-Stars, pitted against their foes from the West. The next day, the All-Star Classic will take place where each divisional team will participate in 3-on-3 games against each other in 10-minute games.
