Well it’s a beautiful Saturday afternoon in my neck of the woods. Yours truly, who would rather be out on the course or at least at the driving range, is homebound dog sitting.
That said, it at least gives me time to work on some upcoming projects for Eyes On The Prize, get a little reading in (currently Glenn Hall’s bio), as well as see what everyone else in the hockey blogosphere is up to.
On Friday the Montreal Canadiens dealt Mathieu Carle to the Anaheim Ducks for Mark Mitera. Carle will likely get a better chance to earn full-time work in Anaheim, where the depth ladder is easier to climb.
Mitera was a former first-round by the Ducks in 2006, when current Toronto Maple Leafs boss Brian Burke was GM, but after five years hasn’t met much promise. Lindsay Kramer of the Syracuse Post-Standard feels the edge in this deal went to the Ducks.

The Canadiens also signed Frederic St. Denis to a one-year, two way deal.

Jacques Martin hosted his annual golf tournament on Friday. La Presse’s Francois Gagnon tweeted earlier Saturday morning that this was the last year for the event.
